My life took a creative direction early on. I studied colour theory, design and visual concepts at the Light Industry Technical College. Later as a graphic designer I started digital design.

Painting appeared in my life ten years ago with one thought: I have to paint. I wanted to smell the paint, hear the sizzle of the brush and the paint knife on the canvas. As time passed on I wanted deeper knowledge so I went to study classical oil painting method from an authentic, experienced master.

Currently my goal in art is to find the perfect balance between classical and modern, figurative and non-figurative, conceptual and impressionism/expressionism.

A mountaineer was once asked why he was climbing that huge mountain. His answer was simply this: – Because it was there. If you ask me why I paint, my answer is simply this: – Because there is that white canvas.

My creative process always starts with a figurative concept in my head. However, when I start the actual painting, I give space to the feelings. I start with expressionist marks, with different colours on the canvas. It reflects my current mood and state at the time. For this method I use acrylic which allows me to work quickly and expressively. Then I start balancing, developing my theme. I do not cover the initial acrylic surface everywhere, so the viewer can see where and how the process began. I usually finish my painting with oil paint, the natural ingredients of which give life and light to my painting. I want to convey the beauty, hope and harmony of life to my audience with my work.

My days are completely occupied by creation because I work as a graphic designer too. My subjects are the depiction of people, animals and nature.
